Bird Watching

Status:Active, open to new members
When: Monthly on Friday mornings 9:45 AM
3rd Friday of month 9.45 am
Venue: Various

Birdwatching Group outings meet at 9.45 am for the morning walk, followed by a picnic lunch, with a very optional walk in the early afternoon. I send out an email beforehand, with details and information of the next meeting, to all my existing group.

Autumn is now well underway – some Birds will be coming in from the cold northern Arctic areas and others will be flying on south through Europe and down in to Africa to warmer climes for the winter. Also, there is always general movement of certain birds, within the UK depending on the weather conditions.

The best Venue at the moment is RSPB Reserve at Dungeness. First we visit one of the hides, then two viewpoints, then walk on around the trail. We identify and discuss the species, referring to our reference books, etc if need be and note anything unusual.

I always welcome new members to join us: register in the usual way, as indicated on the main Groups page.

Reminder: can existing group members please email the Leader, a few days before the meeting, to say if they will be attending.
