The Group meets every Thursday at 10.15am at Etchinghill Golf Club to play a friendly round of golf. The Group plays throughout the year, bar a handful of days when poor weather leads to play being cancelled, notified by email from the Group leader.

We alternate between playing the 9 hole Academy par 3 course one week and 9 holes on The Valley course the following week. The Valley course has par 3, par 4 and par 5 holes. If some members prefer to play the par 3 course each week, that can be arranged.

Non-members of Etchinghill Golf Club will pay a u3a discounted rate per round of £8.50 for the Academy course and £17.00 for The Valley course.

It is a welcoming and encouraging Group, something we all need with golf! We welcome all levels of golfer, who have conquered the basics of the game. You will need your own clubs, bag and trolley and some experience of playing on a course. No handicap necessary as all play is friendly, where the only one to beat is yourself.

Sadly, we cannot offer golfing lessons, so it is best that you have undertaken those elsewhere – Etchinghill Golf Club have several instructors who can help you.

Getting in some regular play with a range of like-minded people is a great way to increase exercise and improve your health, without even noticing. If you are interested but don’t feel you are yet ready, the spring months give you time to get some lessons and practice on the range and golf course, so you are then ready to join when we get the warmer weather.
